What we check
Every score on this site comes from the checks below, run in the open. We publish the full rubric because a score with a hidden method is just an opinion, and you should be able to see exactly what we tested and hold us to it. Nothing here is compared against other sellers or other listings — there's no dataset of every Amazon, Etsy, or Shopify listing to measure against, so we don't pretend there is. Your score is against this rubric, and only this rubric.
Measured checks
These checks don't use a model. They count and measure: image count, resolution, sharpness, duplicate detection, background analysis on the main image, and title or description length against published marketplace norms where one exists. The same listing gets the same result every time.

Where a number is marked “our recommendation”, that is exactly what it is: our judgement, not a marketplace rule. Etsy in particular publishes figures we cannot verify first-party, so every Etsy threshold here is ours and says so.
Vision checks
These checks use an image model to look at your photos the way a buyer would — product prominence, clutter, legibility of any text baked into the image, and whether your gallery covers the shot types buyers look for: main, scale, detail, in use. Vision checks can be wrong at the margins. We'd rather say that than imply otherwise.
Text checks
These checks read your title and description for structure and coverage — length against marketplace norms, all-caps and repeated keywords in titles, and whether the description is substantial enough to answer a buyer's practical questions.
How the score adds up
Each category starts at 100. A finding that breaches a marketplace's own guidance deducts 30; one that breaches our recommendation deducts 12; informational notes deduct nothing. The overall score weights the categories: image coverage 40%, main image 25%, title 20%, description 15%. The weights are our judgement about what decides a sale from the gallery, and this page owns that.
